Government Legislation
Legislation can often times be tricky for signatory contractors as they work in a “gray zone” due to obligations and regulations set forth by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), and at the same time, government requirements and mandates that may not coincide clearly with the CBA. Sometimes, these demands conflict or have already been implemented, but differently. The MCA engages by monitoring and advocating for the signatory subcontracting industry at both the local and state levels. We are an important advocate for our members when working to improve or defend laws and regulations that affect the signatory mechanical contractors.
Advocating for our members and promoting the mechanical construction industry to legislators and policymakers is an important priority for the MCA. We work with elected officials and government agencies at the state and local levels to encourage investment in building infrastructure and the development of sound policies that will lead to job creation and a thriving economy. We will continue to track, analyze and lobby bills with impact to the mechanical and plumbing industry and keep members apprised of the issues and bills affecting their business.
